THE HARRIS BROTHER'S STORY

In the summer of 2019,

Me and my brother Justin were writing and producing records for more than half of Richmond's underground hip hop scene. I was also a full time college student studying theater and struggling with the idea of being a young starving artists. "You shouldn't go to school to study theater. It's a waste of money. Everyone knows that artists are always broke."

One day while backstage in my dressing room, I overheard this more seasoned actor say two words that would forever change me and my family's life.

He mentioned the phrase "equity contract".

The idea that any artist can get paid a salary if they can create a market for their talent.

​

I rushed to the studio and told my brother,

"we need to create our own business and get paid the way we deserve!"

​

By August of 2019, while I was still only 19 years old. Me and my brother started a production company and produced our first show. 

​

As of now,

House of Cards VA is Virginia's fastest growing fully black owned production company, and we have no intentions of slowing down anytime soon.
