RAISING A VOICE

SOMETIMES ALL IT TAKES IS A LITTLE PUSH FROM A LOT OF HANDS TO MOVE A MOUNTAIN

TO RAISE A CHILD. TO RAISE A VOICE. TO RAISE A PLAYWRIGHT

In 2020 when the city of Richmond needed a voice, one emerged. That voice came in the form of a 20 year old college student named Joshua Harris. Using his life savings he created a production company and employed over 50 young actors and students to work during a time where every major theater and film company was closed. He never complained. He just persevered.

After two years, he was given the opportunity to produce his first play The HillSide Chronicles at Bright Point College (formerly known as John Tyler Community College) in February of 2023.

For the first time in my son’s life I watched him cry tears of joy. He had finally reached his dream of becoming a successful playwright.

This fall we are asking for every individual that reads this to donate $5 to our Raise A Voice fundraiser. Your donation will go towards the play's overall production budget of $5,000 as well as guarantee that we can comfortably afford to pay our entire team of actors and crew members.

If there’s one thing I learned from watching my son these past few years it is this….

Sometimes all it takes is a little push from a lot of hands to move a mountain.

Thank you all and have a blessed day!

Sincerely, Sharon
